1.    So Twin Atlantic huh? 

Yeah. Scotland's finest. Scrapping their way out of Glascow and banging lids since 2007 they have four fine albums to their name. The Chaser (Aug'16) is the second single off their latest GLA (Sept'16). Yep GLA is the code for Glascow's airport so it's meant to signify a return to their roots. 

2. What have the boys got to say for themselves?

The Chaser has a massive Marc Bolan style riff, bombastic drums, hand claps and gang vocals. They bang on about what hard chargers they are and how they want to neck anything under the sun. It's a tit ripping ode to hedonism.  

3. Who do Twin Atlantic sound like? 

The Chaser sounds like T. Rex. Muse, Foals and Biffy Clyro in the main. 

4. What have the hard working press said about The Chaser?

The main influences are Jimmy Eat World, Nirvana, Queen, The Pixies and Pink Floyd. 


6. Why should I give The Chaser a whip past the brain holes?

Do you like tunes like Queen's We Will Rock You, Joan Jett's I Love Rock'N'Roll or T. Rex's Get It On? Of course you do. You'd have to be dead inside not to. Get your snout in the trough post haste.


7. What other blinders have Twin Atlantic got up their sleeve?

First off the train is Heart And Soul. The first single off GLA, No Sleep, is a stomper. Brothers and Sisters builds into a tear jerking epic and Make A Beast Of Myself brings up the rear.

GLA is produced by Garret "Jackknife" Lee who has been at the controls for bands like Weezer, Bloc Party and The Silversun Pickups. It was recorded in L.A.

Ludes were an indie rock ska band from London, England. Active from about 2002 until 2006 they then broke up and three of the members founded Rum Shebeen. Ludes were influenced by bands like The Rolling Stones and The Clash. Ludes gave birth to one superb album The Dark Art Of Happiness (2006) and on that album was this bright ska neck breaker Dead Man's Music.

Sleigh Bells - It's Just Us Now

     1.    Who are these two?

     Sleigh Bells are an indie pop rock duo from Brooklyn, New York. Slaying it since 2008 the popular and successful duo have four long players to their name. It’s Just Us Now (Aug’16) is the third single from the new album Jessica Rabbit (Nov’16). 

     2. What's goin' on? 

     It's Just Us Now is pure monster bombast and joy. Elephantine riffs stomp to the fore and are matched punch for punch by knockout vocals. Grab your britches cos it's all on.

     3. Who do Sleigh Bells sound like?

     The Kills, Best Coast, St Vincent, The Black Keys or The White Stripes. 

4. What have those panty sniffers in the press said about It’s Just Us Now?

“Throbs with rage and fiery defiance” – NPR.

Some of Sleigh Bells' influences include Michael Jackson, The White Stripes, Roxette, Def Leppard and Ace Of Base.

Both band members had been in bands before. Derek Miller was the guitarist in hardcore band Poison The Well for five years and Alexis Krauss performed for four years in teen pop band Ruby Blue.

J Roddy Walston and The Business are the greatest band to come out of the south since Creedence Clearwater Revival. I shit you not. Born in Richmond, Virginia, in 2002 these stone cold legends have three massive albums behind them. The band are influenced by gospel, country, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and T. Rex. Heavy Bells (2014) is the bands most successful single; cracking top twenty or thirty in the U.S. depending on the chart. From the third album Essential Tremors (2013), Heavy Bells is a tune Music OMH called “a distortion fuelled number that sounds like In The Summer Time by a very angry Mungo Jerry.”
