Drain are a hardcore punk/thrash metal crossover band from Santa Cruz, California, that have been together since 2014. Good Good Things is a Descendents cover and bounces off their second album Living Proof (May, 2023).

Good Good Things is joyful pop punk song lent a slight edge by a form hardcore punk band. Good Good Times is a a love song to an ex-girlfriend and a complete changeup for this band.

Drug Church - Demolition Man

 

1. Who are Drug Church? 

Drug Church are a post-hardcore punk band from Albany, New York. They formed in 2011 and Demolition Man (July, 2024) is the first single from their fifth album PRUDE (October, 2024). They are known for having a unique sound combining hardcore with 90's alternative rock. 

2. What kind of tune is Demolition Man? 

Demolition Man has the same kind of instantly lovable Green Day riffs that made them the kings of pop punk and a 90's alternative rock vibe but running roughshod over top are vocals channeling some biblical righteous anger about their perception of directionlessness in modern man. And that's the definition of a first world problem princess.

The Frights are a garage surf punk band from San Diego, California. The Frights are two long players and two short players to the good. Kids (Jan’16) is a re-hash from the E.P. DeathFrights (2014) and rockets of the second album You Are Going To Hate This (Feb’16).


2. What kind of gloop are The Frights slopping?

Kids is a sweet little garage surf rocker that sounds like it was recorded at a warehouse gig. But The Frights fucking flail the beast at the end for a rousing finale.

Prince to The Beatles royalty, rock god and musical genius, Electric Light Orchestra is Jeff Lynne. He starting making music in 1963 and is still rocking harder than a prison rapist's hardon. As well as creating his own legacy of 70’s golden pop rock, selling 50 million albums, twenty top 20 UK singles and fifteen top 20 US singles, Jeff Lynne produced albums for Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Brian Wilson. Jeff Lynne also formed The Travellin’ Wilburys (1988-90) with a few friends. The well of Jeff Lynne's musical goodness has influenced indie pop and rock to no less extent than The Beatles and must be dipped into from time to time for a healthy mind and body. Livin’ Thing (1976) was the lead single from ELO’s sixth album A New World (1976), the album was a world wide top ten hit that spawned three more massive singles. Livin' Thing topped a 2006 Q Magazine poll of guilty pleasures, beating out Boston's More Than A Feeling.
