Dial Drive are a pop punk band that embrace a variety of genres but rock out of Orlando, Florida. Playing tunes together since 2017 Burning Bridges (Aug, 2024) pops off their second album of the same name Burning Bridges (Sept, 2023). 

2. What kind of song is Burning Bridges? 

Burning Bridges is a stereotypical early 2000's pop punk song with all the bells and whistles but a carries a fair bit of genuine anger at cutting a bad relationship out of your life.

Backseat Vinyl are an indie rock/pop punk band from Denver, Colorado. Die Cool (October, 2018) is the lead single from their debut album Sad Frenzy (January, 2019).

Die Cool blends goofy 2000's pop punk with a leaner Californian contemporary punk sound. Don't grow up to be your father. 

3. Who do Backseat Vinyl sound like?

There’s a bit of Blink-182, FIDLAR and WAVVES in there.

Their major influences are SWMRS, The Frights, The Story So Far, and Blink-182.

SuperGlu - Dreams

1. Who are SuperGlu? 

SuperGlu are an indie rock band with punk/pop/grunge influences. Hailing from Manningtree, England, they have been playing together since 2014. SuperGlu have one E.P. in the vault and Dreams (Nov'16) is a standalone single. 

2. Do they have the goods? 

And then some. This is the Real McCoy. Dreams is classic pop punk musically but it's a song with integrity at it's heart. Monster riffs, joyous vocals, and more bounce than a kangaroo on meth. Dreams is so instantly infectious it needs to come with a WHO warning.  

3. Who do SuperGlu sound like? 

Weezer meets Blink-182, and PARTYBABY.

Because you like the sound of 90's pop punk. Because SuperGlu do it better.

Dreams is a bulls-eye, no doubt, but it's also a gateway to Simmer Down. That song is some next level shit. Simmer Down is all about a slow, orgiastic build; luxuriating in the lyrics and entrancing rhythms before it goes balls to the wall in the blowout. Championship-winning indie rock. Rounder is a more garage-pop tune and it's fucking outstanding too.

Dreams has had over 100,000 Spotify plays which is worth about $500. The record company would rather sell a C.D.

Friska Viljor are an indie pop duo from Stockholm, Sweden. They started making music in 2005 and have recorded six albums. Friska Viljor are generally similar to Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes, and Of Monsters and Men. They are influenced by beer. My Boys is a single from their sixth album My Name Is Friska Viljor (2015). My Boys is a poppy piece of malarky but the chorus with violin is a lovely little charger.  The song has been described as, “like a hurricane whipping a legion of musical elements and nostalgic moments up into the eye of its melodic storm.”

Schmutzki - Hey Haters

1.    Who are these sharp dressed men?

Schmutzki are a punk pop rock band from Stuttgart, Germany. They kicked shit into action in 2011. Hey Haters (July’16) is the lead single from their second long player Spackos Forever (Aug’16). 

2. What kind of treasure is this Hey Haters? 

Football singing, verse and chorus, set to a raucous punk tune. A fighting song with a drum and vocals breakdown. Fucking perfection. 

3. Who do Schmutzki sound like? 

Blink-182 (back in the day), Offspring and Brings. 

4. What have those panty sniffers in the press said about the album Spackos Forever?

Brings are a carnival rock band from Cologne, Germany. Started in 1990 they have fourteen albums under their wings. Man Musste Noch Mal 20 Sein (2005) is from their tenth album Su Lang Mer Noch Am Laave Sin. The song has more than a hint of the Scottish bagpipes to it from the guitars and is the kind of tune you'd march along singing to. Half a million views for a non-video track can't be all wrong.
