     Lull are a shoegaze band from North London, England. The band kicked the journey off in 2014 and Nouvelle scrapes off their second E.P. Nouvelle (June'16). 

    2. What kind of song is Nouvelle? 

     Nouvelle is a grungy slow burner that wades along with churning guitars and standard issue distortion. Sticky as an iced bun in summer but. 

    3. Who do Lull sound like? 

      The Meat Puppets for me. For others Lull have been compared to The Cocteau Twins, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate, Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine.

Nouvelle will slowly grow in your affections, reminding you of some old song you loved back in the day while becoming the song you love today.

Broncho are a garage rock band from Norman, Oklahoma. The band started rolling in 2010 and have four long players under their arm. Try Me Out Sometime (2013) is a low-fi gem that trundled off their debut album Can't Get Past The Lips (2011 and 2013) and was called a “straightforward, Ramones –like anthem with clean-cut production and staccato guitar strums” by KEXP. Sounds like Kiwi legends The Clean too.

Coast Modern are an indie pop band from Los Angeles, California, that started in 2015. Animals (Feb’16) is Coast Modern's second single.

Animals is a relaxed slow burner with a campfire sing-along vibe that grows on you while the tune has a sly dig at our base instincts.

Indie Shuffle compared Animals to BORNS, Generationals and The Little Ones.

A Canadian indie rock band from West Mount, Quebec, Sam Roberts has six long players on his roll of honor and his debut album The Inhuman Condition (2001) was one of the biggest selling independent releases in Canadian history. The Last Crusade (2011) was the first American single from Sam Robert’s fourth album Collider (2011) and was described as “a jammy bassline and some 70’s riffs”.

Radical Face is multi-intrumentalist, recorder and singer/songwriter Ben Cooper from Jacksonville, Florida. On the go sincethe year 2000 Mr Cooper has five long players to his roll of honor. The Ship In Port (March’16) pitches off the fifth album The Family Tree: The Leaves (March’16).
 

2. What kind of treasure has been unveiled in The Ship In Port?

The Ship In Port is an indie folk thigh slapper with acoustic, piano and strings. A slow burner in both senses of the term. The Ship In Port ironically builds up steam for an absolute blowout in the outro but it takes a few listens to love this beast in it's entirety. Then it's hard to hit sit still listening to this barnstormer.

3. Who do Radical Face sound like?

The Shins. Brooklyn Vegan compared The Ship In Port to Sufjan Stevens and the Garden State soundtrack.

The Joy Formidible are an alternative rock band from Wales who fight out of London, England. The band started in 2007 and have three long players in the vault. Whirring (2011) was the debut single on their debut album, acheived some chart success in the States and may be the best song they have ever done. Pitchfork calledWhirring, “an aerobic rush of a song that builds to the kind of explosive alt-rock chorus that would've blown the roof off.”

The Big Pink - High Times

1. Who are these sharp dressers?

The Big Pink are an electronic indie rock band from London, England, and have been on the job since 2007. High Times (Nov'15) is the lead single from their new short player Empire Underground (March'16) and the band have two long players on their resume.

2. What kind of tune is High Times?

A mellow electronic number with sweet female cooing that doesn't go anywhere fast. Like true love, love for the tune will grow slowly on you, until one day it's just there and an unmuteable truth.

3. Who do The Big Pink sound like?

A movie soundtrack. The experts at MTV say they are similar to M83, Youth Lagoon, MGMT, Hot Chip and School Of Seven Bells. 

4. What is the good word from the press?

Not a lot of buzz to be fair. High Times is“filled with moments of legitimate euphoria” say Consequence Of Sound. A tune with “booming drums and a soaring chorus” thought Stereogum. The Fader felt the “caverous beats and walls of fuzz” while KRCW called it an “esoteric slow burner” and Brooklyn Vegan heard a “a stomping anthem.” Someones got to be wrong there.

5. So who are The Big Pink influenced by?

There has been mention of love for Niki Minaj, My Bloody Valentine, The Stone Roses, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Rihanna, This Mortal Coil, Britney Spears, Nirvanna and Guns'N'Roses.

Elsewhere influences like The Happy Mondays, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Wu Tang Clan and NWA get a big up.

6. So why should I give High Times a spin?

Just let it dwell on your playlist and you will find yourself singing along and eventually checking the name of the band. It's catchy but chill.

7. Have The Big Pink got any other good un's?

Hit The Ground (Superman) was the big hit in 2011 and got plenty of airplay and Tonight brings the guitars and isn't too shabby.

8. Any other bollocks?

Yeah check out the personnel on the new E.P. Empire Underground. Dave Mc Cracken has produced for Sone Roses frontman Ian Brown and Alan Moulder has put nose to the grind for The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Arctic Monkeys, Foals, The Foo Fighters and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Stirring the custard today is a random, Twinsy. They are an Australian indie dance band and have been doing the do since 2012.  They want to make music in the tradition of The Avalanches. Water Bombs (2012) has been called a Calypso tune and dangerously catchy. The chorus is dynamite.
