Get Out Of The Way rocks harder and is all the better for it and so does Bit By Bit. Monkey Tree has a more expansive melancholy synth-pop groove.

Move marries 70's soul and disco elements to an indie pop song and is the kind of inspirational song you put on your jogging playlist.

1.    Who are these heroes? 

Gaze on the majesty of Animal House a garage pop rock band from Brisbane, Australia. The men have a handful of singles to pin to their battle honors and Domino (Oct'16) is the second single from Animal House's first E.P. Sorry (Nov'16). 

2. What kind of magic are they weaving? 

Domino has lashes of old school sixties garage jammed to new century indie rock. The tunes a fucking banger and it hits the ground at speed. Straight-up-the-middle drums power along and their are all the harmonies and guitar every good boy could want. The chorus is as catchy as fuck. Perfection. 

3. Who do Animal House sound like? 

Drunk Mums, Twin Peaks, The Lulu Raes.

The Arctic Monkeys are a extremely successful English post-punk indie rock band from Sheffield, England. Formed in 2002 they have five albums in their catalogue. Their debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006) was the fastest selling debut album in U.K. history and all five albums went to number one in the U.K. and top ten worldwide. In the States they only managed top 20 but their last album A.M. (2013) was the most successful making it to number 6. The first two singles from The Arctic Monkey's first album went to number one but the third Fake Tales From San Francisco (2006) never charted. It's the Arctic Monkey's best song, a song Clash Music describe as an “untamed, organic and ferocious beauty.”

     1.    Who are these bohemians? 

     Whilk & Misky are an indie electronic duo from London. The chaps have been releasing music since 2014 and have a short player and a handful of singles on their resume. All By Myself (July'16) is a standalone single.

     2. What is All By Myself about?

     All By Myself is an acoustic, foot tapping, clap-along tune with a brass assist that is all about getting your groove on with no fucks given. Just get your snout in the trough; this tune is more contagious than a cheap Thai hookers sausage smuggler at sun up.

Krrum is a music producer from Leeds, England, and an electronic pop musician. Evil Twin is from the man's debut E.P. Evil Twin (Jan'16). Krrum has smooth soulful vocals and with a sticky loop courtesy of the lady, and some slamming brass, Evil Twin is a knockout tune. Clash Music called Krrum “an avant pop prodigy” and Stereogum praised Evil Twin's  “absurdly catchy beat.” Get in to it.

Hey Geronimo are an indie rock band from Brisbane, Australia. Bake A Cake (July'16) bounces off their second album Crashing Into The Sun (July'16).

Bake A Cake is a feel good pop rock tune, with a retro sixties 'down at the dance' vibe a fuzzy guitar lick and a take home message.

Jim Adkins is the frontman for punk legends Jimmy Eat World. Going through his 'gee I’m just so sure the fans would just love to hear only me and my acoustic; hell no it’s not narcissism, it's for the fans' wank phase, he has actually put together a tune that doesn’t blow donkey balls. I Will Go (2015) is one of six tunes he dropped on an E.P. of the same name and is a Roy Orbison or Travelling Wilburys sounding number. Not total shite.

The Stone Roses - All For One

1.    Who are these legends? 

The Stone Roses are an indie psych rock band from Manchester, England. Started in 1983 and still going strong they have two long players on their immortal roll of honor. All For One (May'16) is the lead single from The Stone Rose's third album, Third Eye, due for release this year. All For One is the first new music from The Stone Roses in 21 years.

2. What have The Stone Roses got in the tank?

All For One comes on with a swinging riff and sounding more direct, like Oasis, and with the same anthemic sing-along pay off. All For One is an upbeat, snappy tune with Ian Brown's detached trademark vocals providing the trippy vibe of yore. A stellar comeback.

3. Who do The Stone Roses sound like? 

The Telegraph compared aspects of All For One to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry and The White Stripes. The Stone Roses have generally been compared to Oasis, The Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Primal Scream and The Smiths.

Fool's Gold is the band's most successful song, a modest top ten or twenty hit around the world, a tight dance masterpiece led my a drum masterclass and the only ten minute song worth listening to. She Bangs The Drums is an intense, euphoric banger with the best bass intro to an indie rock song ever. Made Of Stone is a melancholic sing-along that still charges at windmills, has a fiery John Squire lead break, and is the best song The Stone Roses ever made.

All For One was produced by Paul Epworth who has worked for Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Primal Scream, Adele and U2 to name a few. 

In 2004 one hundred musicians and critics voted The Stone Rose's debut album The Stone Roses (1989) the best British album of all time in The Observer, ahead of The Beatle's Revolver, The Clash's London Calling and Van Morrison's Astral Weeks.

The La's are an indie jangle pop band from Liverpool, England. Formed in 1983 they periodically reform but have only one piece of gold in the vault, the debut self-titled album The La's (1990).  There She Goes (1990) was one of four singles from the album but is far and away The La's most popular song and a minor chart hit in the US and a top ten hit in the UK. Consequence Of Sound said There She Goes has "one of the most memorable opening riffs in pop rock" and is "one of rock's most memorable and poignant love songs." While The La's largely eluded the adulation heaped on their peers, nonetheless, There She Goes is emblematic of the revolutionary, effervescent, milieu that British indie music enjoyed in the early nineties.

1.    Who is this man of music?

Rafter Roberts plays art pop music (experimental and rebellious and from an established form, not necessarily popular) and is from San Diego, California. We're Golden (March'16) bubbles off the album Terrestrial Extras (March'16). Rafter Roberts has eight albums to date and a plan to release one a month this year.


2. What’s spinning?

We're Golden is a preppy, swinging, jazzy bouncer with quirk. Fun from start to finish.


3. Who does Rafter Roberts sound similar to?

If Rafter Roberts sounded similar to anyone he would be disappointed. All Music suggest YACHT, Crytacize and Dan Deacon but Rafter Roberts feels genre-hopper R. Stevie Moore is the answer or at least is a formative inspiration.
