Beware Of Darkness are an alternative rock band from Santa Barbara, California. Rocking hard since 2010 they have one great album in the bag. Dope (July'16) is the lead single from their second long player Are You Real? (Sept'16).

Dope is classic rock. The bluesy riffs are solid as a gold brick, licks embellish the verses with aplomb and the rhythm prances along.

7. Do Beware Of Darkness have any more cracking good songs? 

Abso-bloody-lutely. Howl is a steaming, hard rocking tune. My Planet Is Dead tells it how it is over a storming bluesy groove. Get your snout in the trough.

The Smashing Pumpkins are an alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Making sweet sounds since 1988 they are still going strong. Butterfly With Wings was the lead single from their third album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (1995) an album that debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Butterfly With Wings is The Smashing Pumpkins most famous song and was described by Rolling Stone as "grim verses leading to a ridiculously bombastic chorus."

Royal Blood - Where Are You Now

1.    Who are these lords of rock’n’roll?

Royal Blood are a blues infused hard rock band from Brighton, England. These heroes have been hard pumping it since 2013. Where Are You Now (April'16) is the first single since the release of their number one debut long player Royal Blood (2014).


2. What have the lads got left in the tank?

Where Are You Now might not be love at first sight but this hard charging hard rock number finds it's range and starts connecting with it's punches in bunches. Retro-seventies hard rock sound, throbbing bass and huge riffs. You know the drill.

Wolfmother swims in the same pool. Noisey felt that Where Are You Now would find favor with fans of Iggy Pop and Queens Of The Stone Age.

Mike Kerr told NME Where Are You Now is inspired by the character Ritchie Finestra from Vinyl “talking about the first time you hear a song that made the hair on the back of your neck stand up or made you wanna dance or kick someone’s arse. I just wanted to write a song that gave me that kind of buzz.”

28 Days are a punk rock rap band from Melbourne, Australia. Slamming it hard since 1997 they have four long players on their roll of rock'n'roll honor and are still going strong. Rip It Up is the band's highest charting tune and bounced off the bands second album Upstyledown (2000) that debuted at number one in Australia and is, the AU Review say, “cemented in the Australian music culture as the voice of an Australian generation.”

The Best Indie Songs of 2014 - Royal Blood

 

 

Royal Blood rock hard without really being hard rock. More like White Stripes with a sense of urgency and relevance. There’s a hint of Rage Against The Machine in Little Monster (Feb’14) but also grunge bands like Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots. It’s a righteous tune filled with guitar riffs and drum fills.

 

  

Royal Blood are a duo from Brighton, England who have been hard pumpin it since 2013. So far they have made one donation to the cause, the self-titled long player Royal Blood (Aug’14).

Foo Fighters, Jeff Buckley, White Stripes and Led Zeppelin are some of the artists Royal Blood would bow down in homage before.
