The Wet Secrets - I Can Swing A Hammer

1   1.    Who are these cruisers?

The Wet Secrets are an indie rock band from Edmonton, Canada. The Wet Secrets started belting the tunes out in 2005 and have three albums under their belt. I Can Swing A Hammer (Jan’16) is the lead single from the EP I Can Live Forever (Jan’16).

      2.    What’s on the wireless?

I Can Swing A Hammer is a bouncy, frothy, rock tune with a shout along chorus as contagious as a cut price Bangkok rent boy’s taint at six in the morning.  Pure bubbling fun with orgiastic jabs of keys and crucial assistance from the ladies on backup vocals. Get some.

      3.    Who do The Wet Secrets sound like?

The New Pornographers or The B52's maybe.

      4. What have the champions in the press said about I Can Swing A Hammer?

“An infectious track” – Paste Magazine.

“A jangly, catchy, fist pumping anthem” – CBC Music.

“A dance rock pep talk” – Six Shooter Records.

 5. Which bands do The Wet Secrets gush about?

They have expressed some love for The Stranglers, ABBA, Weird War and Os Mutantes.

6. Why should I give I Can Swing A Hammer a whip past the lugs?

I Can Swing A Hammer is an earworm with a sense of humor.

7. Do The Wet Secrets have any more wonder numbers?

They are bound to. Give Nightlife a crack.

8. Any more words?

The Wet Secrets perform in their marching costumes.

“I can swing a hammer with the best of them,
It’s a lie, it’s a lie, it’s a lie, it’s a lie, it’s a lie,
But it’s mine”

Eytan and The Embassy were an indie pop band from New York. They played from 2009 - 2014, released a handful of songs, licensed them for T.V and commercials and then their founder Eytan Orlon went off to make big coin from apps for popular band releases. I shit you not. Eytan and The Embassy had fifteen minutes of fame with their gimmicky video for Everything Changes but it's Weekend Warrior (2014) that is the diamond in the rough. A blood-pumping, jogging playlist song with the ultimate feel-good vibe (and a small side of urine extraction).

“There are days when I love everybody I see,
When I sing to the world and it’s smiling at me”
