BRONCHO - Keep It In Line

1. Who are they?

BRONCHO are an indie rock band that's sound wanders around the place but are themselves from Norman, Ohio. They started playing in 2010 and Keep It In Line (October, 2018) is a single from their fourth album Bad Behavior (October, 2018).

2. What kind of song is Keep It In Line?

A low-fi melodic cruise with hints of garage rock, a wheedling line about behaving yourself and cooed over with sunny sweet vocals. Bit of an earworm. The band are a personal favorite of mine.

3. Who do BRONCHO sound like?

They have been mentioned in the same breath as The Strokes, upbeat songs by The Cure, and Generationals. There's a bit of The Clean in there for me too like in this banger Try Me Out Sometime (2012).

4. Which bands have influenced BRONCHO?

The Beach Boys, Billy Idol and The Strokes.

5. What have the press said?

“Singalong anthems that combine punk and garage-rock”- Handing Love.

“An infectious song about practicality and accountability” – XS Noize.

“A high energy and is very danceable” – Song BPM.

"You got caught and ya gave it away,
And then I cancelled on ya"

Hey Geronimo - Working For Google

1.    Who are they?

Hey Geronimo are an indie rock band from Brisbane, Australia. Working For Google (Aug'18) is the lead single from their third album CONTENT  (Sept'18).

2. What's the song like?

Working For Google rocks the hardest of the tunes on the generally synth heavy album CONTENT. It has the easy rocking likeability of early Weezer mixed with the humor of dance rock Aussie bands like TISM and Bluejuice. Working For Google is a banger with a sticky chorus that is better than anything else this band have ever produced.

3. Who do Hey Geronimo sound like?

Bands similar to Hey Geronimo include Animal House, Ball Park Music, and Kasabian.

4. What have the press said about Working For Google?

“A memorable few minutes of edgy alternative rock” – Two Story Melody.
“The riff is heavy as a hammer to the head” – Last Day Leaf
“Opts to launch in with a wall of sound” – Savage Thrills.

5. Which bands influenced Hey Geronimo?
Generally Custard, The Beach Boys, and Weezer influenced Hey Geronimo. Although T.Rex, Dandy Warhols and Blur were direct influences on Working For Google.

6. Why should I give Working For Google a spin?
Because you like a little nasty with your melodies; a tune with something pointed to say.

7. What are Hey Geronimo's best songs?
Bake A Cake, Dreamboat Jack and I'll Be There are just a few of their tasty tunes.

8. Any more words?
CONTENT is a theme album based on a dark dystopian view of technologies influence on society.

Spring King - Rectifier

1.    Who are these champions?
Spring King are a post-punk band from Manchester, England, that started in 2012. Spring King have released a couple of E.P.’s and singles. Rectifier (Feb’16) is a stand alone single.

 2. What kind of tune is Rectifier?
A bass string intro gives Rectifier bounce before it graduates to a full on rock out.

3. Who do Spring King sound similar to?

4. What have the press said about Rectifier?
“Crisp build up, the distorted vocals and the delicious pop touch beneath the noise” – Clash Music.
“Pulsating” – It’s All Indie.
“One hectic motherfucker of a track” – When The Gramophone Rings.

5. Who puts the feedback in Spring King’s guitars?
Spring King’s list of influences are The Beach Boys, Arcade Fire, Ty Segall, The Clash, The Black Lips, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, The Projectors, Stan Getz, Chet Baker and Astrud Gilberto.

6. Why should I give Rectifier a fair crack of the whip?

Spring King’s opening blows in the fight for title of English rock’n’roll’s best newcomers, the singles City and Who Are You?, showed great promise. Rectifier comes good on that promise. Recitifier nails it. Rectfier is a rollicking piece of essential, noisy and addicitve rock’n’roll.

7. Do Spring King have any more bangers?

Who Are You? is the one you want.

8. Any more words?

Spring King were propelled into fame and fortune by Zane Lowe playing it as his first song on his new radio show.

If you want to know the bands favorite music and food and everything else then read this NME article. Boring ass shit but.

“I’m leaving this town”

Dessert is served by The Swedish post-punk band The Sounds. Started in 1999 and with five long players in the vault this band have been compared to Blondie and The Cars and have toured with The Strokes and The Foo Fighters. Yeah Yeah Yeah comes from their fourth album Something To Die For (2011) and is a tall strutting synth pop gem that kicks ass and doesn't take names.
“You don’t float like a butterfly or sting like Ali,
Dress like Prince but to the lowest degree”

The Best Indie Songs of 2015 - The Mowgli's

The Mowgli’s I’m Good (Jan’15) starts off with a ska rag, big drum and some laid back lead straight out of the bag and heads are nodding and arses wobbling. Then it’s 'how’s your father' and into a big as Melissa McCarthy’s ass singalong chorus with everyone in and color by number lyrics. But that’s a good thing. This song will have you smiling like a retard masturbating.

A song about being comfortable living in your own skin regardless of societal expectations and the power of solidarity, it’s a take home message in an indie pop tune so sweet pharmaceutical companies are laughing evilly in their sleep. But if you don’t like this song, call the doctor, you really are broken inside. This tune is indie with a capital “I”, a hurricane of happy that would make a death row inmate on his last meal hopeful. I’m not fucking with you when I goddamn testify it's one of the best indie songs of 2015.

“It’s been a long time living this way”

The Mowgli’s are an indie rock band from Los Angeles of the great US of A. They started in 2010 and I’m Good is the second single off their second album Kids In Love (April’15).

Shit you need to know:

Their new album was produced by a handy crew. Tony Hoffer who did graft with The Kooks, Captain Cuts a group of producers who've gone to the coalface with Smallpools and Matt Radosevich who jobbed for Walk the Moon.

Peas of a pod with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Fun. and Grouplove.

Got there groove from Neil Young, The Beach Boys and Fleetwood Mac.

Have a mission statement to spread love and kindness and support good causes like protesting the Religious Freedom Restoration Act being used in Indiana to discriminate against gay folk.

Participated in the Occupy Movement.

Have more heart filling masterpieces like San Francisco, Say It, Just Say It and The Great Divide.

Don’t leave a bro hanging is as a random as a five in the morning hook up in Bangkok. This is the English indie rock left field geniuses Public Service Broadcasting and their never fuckin surrender epic Spitfire (2012).

Oh what a treat.

“Someday I’m going to build a plane just like a bird,

It isn’t exactly a bird I’m creating is it?

At least a curious sort of bird

A bird that breaths fire and spits out destruction"
