AudioDamn! - Radar

1.    Who are these quirky characters?

AudioDamn! describe themselves as a soul rock band and origniate from Austria but were launched from Germany in 2011 on a quest of worldwide musical domination. Radar is the second single to march off AudioDamn!'s self-titled debut short player Audiodamn! (Jan'16)
.

2. What sort of tune have they let fly?

Radar starts on full cruise mode with falsetto vocals and horns but a full throated guitar lurks, subdued, in the background of this indie soul number sallying forth to throw a flurry of  repressed licks providing muscle and creating a rich musical texture.

3. Who do AudioDamn! sound like?
Radar  sounds like some of the songs that bands like Living Color, Faith No More, OK Go and The Jackson 5 have made.

Operation Every Band compared Radar to The Black Keys, Mayer Hawthorne and Maroon 5.

4. What have those bone idle bastards in the music press got to say about Radar?
“Displays how they embrace and blend multiple genres” – Examiner.

“An ultra-catchy piece of R&B-pop, its harmony-laced grooves and Grumeth’s throwback-funk production brilliantly contrasting the heartache in Wimmer’s vocals” – Tell All Your Friends.
“Smooth pop rock that incorporates soul” – Pure Volume.

5. Which bands influenced these eclectic charmers?

AudioDamn! have expressed love for Queen, The Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Michael Jackson, Green Day, Guns'N'Roses, Usher, Justin Timberlake, John Coltrane, Jazz greats in general and rhythm and blues.

6. Why should I let Radar storm into my playlist?

Radar will make you dance like the world can't see without losing your rock credibility. Radar is a genre bender that opens up a world of musical possibilities.

7. Do AudioDamn! have any more heavy artillery in the arsenal?

AudioDamn! have only put a handful of songs out but they crush it. Lights Out lets the guitars off the leash to rampage in a belter of an alternative rock song.

Brief Microsleep rolls out the funk to devastating effect and compares favorably to Living Color. Give It Up crashed up the middle with a more traditional rock vibe.

8. Any more bullets to fire from these rock’n’roll crusaders?
AudioDamn! Singer and guitarist Oli Wimmer participated in an Austrian musical talent show Starmania and in Eurovision 2011. Oli had a number one song in Austria just aged 17.
AudioDamn! have had some great producers and recording techinicians at work with them. They include Brian West (AWOLNATION, Maroon 5), Neil Everon (Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard), Gregg Wattenberg (Train, Goo Goo Dolls) and Mikal Blue (Jason Mraz, OneRepublic).
AudioDamn! have been touring the States this February with Massachusetts rock band Highly Suspect.

“Do you ever lie about the past we shared?
You still have the ring I gave you then?”

Slippery seconds is served by AudioDamn! tour mates Highly Suspect. Highly Suspect have been making alternative rock since 2009 and have two albums to savor. 2015 saw the release of the second, Mister Asylum, with the lead single Lydia, propelled the band to fame and mainstream acclaim. Reaching number 4 on the rAmerican rock charts Lydia was described in a Sputnik Music review said was “a legitimate song of the year contender that rides funky verses to a chorus so massive an exasperated vocalist/guitarist Johnny Stevens roars “I can’t fucking breathe” in the bridge.”

“I can’t fucking breathe, much less believe the truth”
