The Family Rain - Every So Often

1.    Who are these fine gentleman of taste?

The Family Rain are an alternative rock band formed by three brothers from Bath, England. They started rocking in 2011 and have one big player Under The Volcano (2014) to their credit as well as two E.P.’s and four singles. Every So Often (March’16) is the lead single from The Family Rain’s third E.P. due in (March’16).

2.    What kind of tune are The Family Rain touting?

Every So Often rips out massive blues riffs with the abandon of a bridesmaid throwing confetti and nails a juicy lead break. The rest of the song happens. Riff, rock, chorus and done in three.

3.    Who do The Family Rain sound like?

Cage The Elephant. The Family Rain have been compared to Cage The Elephant, Royal Blood, The White Stripes, The Darkness, The Black Keys, Kings Of Leon and The Arctic Monkeys.

4. What shouts outs have the press made about Every So Often?

The reviews are out.

5. Who provides the grist for The Family Rain’s gristle?

The Family Rain are influenced by The Darkness, AC/DC, KISS, The Black Keys, Supergrass, De La Soul, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. The band mentioned big love for The Strokes, Feist, M.I.A., A Tribe Called Quest and Metallica to A MusicBlog, Yea?

6. Why should I give Every So Often a whip past the earholes?

Every So Often riffs harder than teenage boys finding their father's Penthouse collection  and grooves more than a self-harmer left alone with a ruler.

7. Do The Family Rain have any more of these gold nuggets?

Indeed they do. Trust Me I’m A Genius is a banger and Carnival nails it.

8. Any more words to scrawl in crayon?

The Family Rain were inspired to form a band by watching a show by The Darkness.

The Family Rain are on fluffer duties for The Heavy in England and Europe in the next few months. They have been fluffers for The Rolling Stones, Miles Kane, The Courteeners and Jake Bugg in the past.

“My heart beats a melody”

The Darkness are a glam rock slash rock and roll revivalist band from Lowestoft, Suffolk, England. Started in 1999 and still going strong and influenced by T.Rex and Slade they have four cracking big albums in their roll of honor. I Believe In A Thing Called Love (2003) was the third single from The Darkness's debut album Permission To Land and is called “a chart topping anthem” by Village Voice and “as awesome and rockin’ and legitimate and theatrical as Freddie Mercury of Queen,” by Top One Hit Wonders.

“I believe in a thing called love,
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart”
